The DIGIS project has focused on two areas of rapid growth between new technologies such as drones and virtual reality, and its main objective is the creation of two new qualifications of VET in UAS developer and in virtual reality developer, that will be tested through online training in all participating countries. It is expected that, these two new qualifications will be recognized in as many countries as possible out of the five participating in the project.

During this period, each country will have to create a collaboration structure with the aim of supporting the process of recognition of qualifications by the responsible authorities, reviewing the new qualification standards, supporting the activities of the pilot test, preparing the implementation of the new qualifications, and, finally, to implement their promotion and the exploitation phase.

The Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Terrassa Vocational Training Council, an associated partner of the project, has presented the project in several sessions of the Vocational Training Council, which has helped to create an alliance that serves as the impetus of the new qualifications and the support in the procedure of recognition of the new qualifications.

Within the framework of this stakeholders group, in May, a workshop was held with the Nicolau Copèrnic Institute(VET provider), specialists in the field of programming, to review the proposals for new qualifications (drones and reality virtual) and a second working session, on 13 May, with the Public Agency for Vocational Training and Qualification of Catalonia and Estudio Àgora (DigiS project’s partner), where in addition to reviewing the drafts of the new qualifications, different possibilities were defined for the implementation of the project outcomes, from the recognition of the new qualifications at the national and regional level to the possibility the adaptation of existing curricula that could include the new areas in development as a specialization.

The aim, is that once the pilot test is over and the new qualifications standards improved, the process of recognizing the new qualifications (drones and virtual reality) will begin according to the requirements of each country to achieve recognition of at least 3 participating countries.

Once the Joint qualification Standard will be finished, the DIGIS project envisages the creation of an online platform with the two fully developed courses and, in parallel with the training of students through the pilot test, the training of teachers from the participating VET organizations.
